Our Wedding: The Details
Last week Dan and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary. Our wedding was perfect in so many ways and I love looking through the pictures that so wonderfully capture the details of that day. I have wanted to share some of the details for a while now so our first anniversary seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally do so. By the way, all of pictures in this post are from the very talented Erica and Ben of The Ewings Photography Studio. They are the best to work with!
Our wedding day started off at the Langham Hotel in Boston where my bridesmaids and I got ready in one of their suites. The Langham is such a fun place to get ready. Brides and grooms have access to the exclusive “pink lady” taxi, although we never really needed it since our reception took place across the street. Also, the hotel staff delivered pink macarons to our suite that morning. Such a fun surprise!
As for my wedding dress, my mom and I went dress shopping at a few bridal boutiques before deciding that the dresses at J.Crew were much more my style. The J.Crew wedding dresses have a simple elegance to them, nothing too flashy or overdone. I loved the pretty lace detail of my dress. Although the dress was relatively simple, the lace detail gave it that something special I was looking for.

Glazed Cranberry-Lemon Cake
As much as I love to make fancy layer cakes, there is something to be said about the simplicity of a bundt cake. Not only are they easy to make but they require very little in the decoration department. A simple glaze is more than enough to dress up a bundt cake. And despite their…

Cranberry-Oat Bars
Now that Thanksgiving is over, I am more than ready to transition into the holiday baking season. I love this time of year and all of the baking that comes along with it. Whether it is for a gift, a cookie swap or just for myself, I always enjoy finding and trying new holiday cookie recipes….

Panera Mac and Cheese
Panera has been one of my favorite lunchtime spots for quite a while now. I always say that Panera is my favorite fast food restaurant but really it’s unfair to put Panera into the same category as McDonalds, Burger King and the like. Their food is infinitely better. I love almost every soup, salad and sandwich…

Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Spread
These days you can’t go into the store without finding pumpkin-flavored everything. It seems like every company is capitalizing on the pumpkin craze and releasing new products all the time. Sometimes I am tempted to buy all the pumpkin things. But sometimes I see something in the store and am motivated to go home and make my own version.

Disney World Eats
Last spring Dan and I took a week long trip to Disney World. I have been to Disney World several times and love it for so many reasons- the atmosphere, the people and of course, the food. There are a number of really great restaurants and bakeries on Disney property, many of which we hit…

Chocolate Peanut Butter Monster Eyeballs
Now that Dan and I are done watching Breaking Bad (62 episodes in 26 days!), I feel like I have so much more time on my hands. More time to bake, more time to blog, more time to do just about anything. I have never been that hooked on a show before but it was…

Pumpkin Gingersnap Cookies
Now that fall is here we are officially in the midst of pumpkin season. So last weekend I opened a big can of pumpkin and made these pumpkin gingersnap cookies. For the longest time I never liked gingersnap cookies. After a few too many crunchy gingersnap cookies, I convinced myself that they just weren’t my thing….
