Happy New Years everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are now ready for an even better 2015. I have lots of ideas for the new year but first I want to share the last recipe I made in 2014. I love sangria- there are endless flavor combinations and I have yet to try a combination I don’t like. And this sparkling pear sangria is everything I hoped it would be. It is delicious. It is bubbly. It is celebratory. It can also be made in advance, making it the perfect drink to celebrate any special occasion- perhaps a birthday, a new job or even a new year.
2014 definitely went out with a bang- a delicious and sparkling bang. Here’s to an even more delicious 2015. Cheers!
- 6 oz. vodka
- 2 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 5 oz. pear nectar
- sparkling wine, chilled
- thinly sliced pear slices, for serving
- In a small pitcher, combine the vodka, lemon juice and pear nectar. Refrigerate until the mixture is chilled.
- When ready to serve, fill each glass about ⅔ to ¾ full and top with sparkling wine. Add a pear slice to each glass and serve immediately.
